Motivational Interviewing for Health & Wellness | Supported by CCSME

Event Details

Motivational Interviewing is a client-centered, evidence-based, directive method for enhancing intrinsic motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. During this one-day workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing, explore ways of integrating Motivational theories into other treatment approaches, and practice Motivational Interviewing on “challenging” clients through role play and discussion. An emphasis will be placed on health issues and factors affecting those such as substance use, diet, exercise and other self-care and self-harming behaviors.
