Although “spirituality” has long been a familiar term in the addictions field, formal attention to “spirituality and religion in the practice of counseling” is still an emerging field. This workshop will provide an overview of trends in the field with a specific focus on ethical practice in relation to counselor competencies, as defined by professional organizations.
