Domestic Violence: Scope and Impact on Intimate Partners and non-Intimate Family Members | Supported by CCSME

After an overview of the scope of domestic violence and its impact on intimate partners and non-intimate family members, the presenter will review screening tools, resource programs, and treatment interventions. An exploration of the role of substance use disorder and cultural considerations will also be conducted.

At the end of the program participants will be able to:
Name four screening tools to help identify individuals in unsafe relationships
Identify resources and discuss challenges to accessing resources
Describe interventions to include in treatment plans
Evaluate effective professional helping intervention approaches, and develop sample treatment plans
Discuss vicarious traumatization when helping domestic violence victims
Define domestice violence and identify risks of violence among both intimate partners and non-intimate family members
