Make the connection at Maine's Annual Conference on Problem Gambling Awareness


AdCare Maine will present Maine's Annual Conference on Problem Gambling Awareness, March 6 in Bangor. The theme is Making the Connection.

The keynote by Christopher J. Welsh, M.D., Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Maryland School of Medicine, will examine the intersection of opioids and problematic gambling.

Presenter Nancy A. Murray, CAGS, LCDP, ICOGS, Problem Gambling Program Manager, Rhode Island Lottery, will provide an overview of gambling, problem gambling, and a discussion regarding the similarities and differences between gambling and opiate addictions.

The purpose of this conference is to raise awareness across the state about problem gambling, and the important roles of education, prevention efforts, treatment services, and recovery supports.
